Class Model:  Classes will include a combination of multiple guided meditation sessions, interactive discussions, and a topic presentation and discussion.

Participants:  I am looking to recruit young adults in their 20's/early 30's to participate in this class that have some interest in mindfulness, but haven't had the opportunity to learn or experience it, or who perhaps have some experience with it, but are interested in learning more.

Curriculum:  The sessions are organized as follows:

Session 1:  General Introduction to Meditation and Mindfulness
Session 2:  Breathing -  anatomy, techniques, effects
Session 3:  Compassion - for others and yourself
Session 4:  Gratitude - What is it and why it matters

Why participate?  Develop a better understanding of how meditation and mindfulness may be useful for you to include in your daily life.  How it helps regulate our reactivity and how it can improve your relationships with others and yourself.  Perhaps this is the start of a life long journey of self-improvement.

NOTE:  As part of the practicum requirements, the sessions will be recorded, however the recordings will only be shared with the teachers of the class and no one else.

Welcome:  I am participating in a Mindfulness Instructor Training Class with CalmerChoice (https://www.calmerchoice.org).  As part of this class we are required to create and deliver a 4 session series of classes on Mindfulness as the practicum component of the training.

About me:  Professionally I have been in the tech industry for many years (https://www.linkedin.com/in/rodandar). I have also been teaching yoga for six years and I am an RYT-500 yoga instructor focused primarily on Vinyasa yoga.  I also have trainings in Yin Yoga and Yin Meditation (https://www.danrichardsyoga.com).   My goal of this series of classes, beyond fulfilling my class requirements, is to introduce others to mindfulness practices and share the benefits of this practice with people that are interested and curious about the interactions between their mind and body.
